My Story
Hi, I am Vicki, mum to 2 active little boys & wife to Dan.
I am a qualified Pre and Post Natal Fitness Instructor and have been working in the leisure and fitness since 2006. I am also a qualified Physical Education Teacher where I was head of department at my last school. I decided to join my husband and create team WeStryv after having our second son, this giving my the flexible work life balance I believe in.

Pre and postnatal exercise is a passion of mine thanks to my two wonderful boys. I was active throughout all of my pregnancies, with our first born, a rainbow baby, I exercised under caution as I didn't know what effects exercise at high levels would have on my body while being pregnant, there is a lot of information out there about the do's and don'ts during pregnancy and it is my mission to pass the correct information onto other mums.
I wish I knew then, what I know now

I work within the fitness industry to help people achieve their goals, maintain health, enjoy sport and coach athletes to their own personal successes.
Keep working, keep striving, never give up
Getting into shape shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. I believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness are worth the challenge. I have developed my programmes to be adaptive to the needs of my new clients, including making fitness accessible to new mums either through group fitness classes or 121 personal training sessions.
We exercise together, WeStryv together

What is Antenatal & Postnatal Personal Training
Antenatal Personal Training
Our Antenatal personal training is a great way to continue exercising during pregnancy. I offer a free face to face consultation via video call or in person, to ensure we are meeting your needs as a pregnant woman. Our programme is specific to you, your trimester and is designed to keep mums-to-be strong, mobile and pain free throughout their pregnancy alongside getting ready for the birth of the baby.

Exercising in your first trimester
Congratulations, you are pregnant! Oh no ... what about exercise? - Don't worry I have you covered.
Within the First Trimester you may feel like you need to slow down - that is correct you need to look after yourself as your body is building something amazing! During this stage you body is going through many changes, both physical and hormonal. It needs time to adjust. You many be feeling sick, tired, and emotional, which are all normal, your hormones are at work relaxing your muscles, ligaments and joints to get ready for the birth.
Personal training during this trimester looks different for everyone. There is no 'one size fits all approach' here at WeStryv. I work with each client individually to meet the needs of each new mum-to-be. If you are ready to exercise - lets have a chat.

Exercising in your second trimester
During your second trimester you may feel like you have a lot of energy, you can also do a lot more than you give yourself credit for. You may still be experiencing morning sickness, and you may start to notice your baby bump, your body is still hard at work building this time human, but the initial hormonal surge has regulated and you may be ready to step up your training, or begin your antenatal fitness journey.

During this trimester we will stay clear of anything that might do more harm than good, for example, plank and sit-ups as these exercises tighten your core in the wrong way – as you body is expanding to make space for baby. Instead we will focus on deep core & pelvic floor through breathing, band work, dumbbells, gym ball and aerobic exercises, All of the exercises and equipment chose are safe and designed to get you in the best possible shape for the next chapter of you life.

Exercising in your third trimester
During your final trimester, the types of activity you are able to do will depend on how you’re feeling. We will take into account how you are feeling, as you may be tired and achy, especially towards the latter stage of trimester three. During our programme we will work around your growing bump, ensuring the exercises are comfortable for you and baby. We will also take into account any aches and pains as there are common pregnancy conditions such as SPD or sacroiliac pain that can flare up during this trimester.

Exercise during this trimester is about preparing the you and your body for birth. We will focus on the best exercises for you in this trimester, birthing positions the use of the 'birthing ball' as relief, movement, support and posture position. we will touch on the importance of nutrition for you and your baby.

Exercising in your fourth trimester
What is the fourth Trimester?
The fourth trimester is classed as the first 8-10 weeks post birth. This is also known as the postnatal period.

The Postnatal Period?
From the moment you give birth you are now a postnatal woman, your body has given birth to a wonderful little bundle, to treasure and cherish. but you now need time to recover!

Postnatal personal training will now be your next stage, or one of our mum and baby fitness classes such as Baby&Me or Buggybeat.

I will offer each new mum a postnatal health check, which consists of a new PAR-Q form, face to face, video or message consultation, a free postpartum diastasis recti screening (abdominal separation check) - this is where i will look at and check (feel) the tummy for weakness in the mid line, check C-section scars, and help you to support the tummy and pelvic floor. It is about a gentle post birth recovery. we will then map out a plan based on your goals and work with you each step of the way to develop you new mum fitness.
